Mosaics

Inspired by nature, Deb's mosaics are a reflection of the spirit of what she sees around her. She takes that inspiration and lets what is happening in the artwork develop organically. Deb enjoys looking through her glass to find the colours, textures and shapes that feel like they belong in the work next. Found, used objects that no longer function in their original form such as an old frying pan, table, or guitar, are some of her favourite items to mosaic, and old beads, keys, or bits of jewelry are incorporated with the glass, bringing a new function and value to something that had lost their value in our culture: finding beauty in the discarded.
